Information on Electrical Engineering – Master’s degree

The training of the students of the ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING specialty in the Department “Electrical Apparatus” is carried out in the following three educational degrees: bachelor with a study period of 4 years, master with a study period of 1.5 years and PhD with a duration of 3 years.

The Master’s program of the specialty “Electrical Engineering” aims to further develop and enrich the knowledge obtained during the studies in the “Bachelor” degree. By using classical and interactive learning methods, students acquire knowledge, skills and attitudes that meet the requirements of modern fast-developing technologies in the electrical engineering industry. Master’s electrical engineers are leaders in the use of best practices in research and production activities in the development, production and operation of electrical products.

Why should I choose this education?

The Master of Electrical Engineering receives training for the use and application of modern technologies, software products and CAD systems in the development and analysis of classic and non-traditional energy converters, efficient production and consumption of electricity, synthesis and control of electromechanical systems. Thus, he is built as a specialist who can participate and lead projects on the development, design, implementation and operation of electrical devices and systems in all branches of industry.

What will I study?

The training includes mandatory disciplines and elective courses. Mandatory disciplines provide fundamental training in numerical methods for modeling, simulating and analyzing electro-mechanical systems, microprocessor control of systems, quality management. Elective courses are oriented to various modern fields of electrical engineering and electrotechnologies and direct students to choose a topic for diploma thesis. The thesis is developed in the third semester.

Opportunities for student mobility

Students with high grades and good language skills can be sent under the Erasmus program to study and prepare a thesis in leading European universities.

My realization

The broad base of knowledge and skills that the graduates of the Master’s program in the specialty “Electrical Engineering” receive, ensures them a good reception and successful implementation in the public and private sectors in:

• research, design, engineering and consulting companies for the construction of electricity facilities

• research, design, engineering and consulting companies for the development and implementation of energy-efficient management of technological processes, electric drives, building automation

• industrial enterprises, companies and units for the development and production of electrotechnical products using CAD/CAM technologies and systems

• electricity distribution companies, representative offices of leading foreign companies.

After gaining some practical experience, they can also carry out management, teaching and research activities.

Master’s electrical engineers may continue their studies in a doctoral program to obtain the PhD degree.
